Graveside services for Don Kirby, 87, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Rosehill Cemetery with Mr. Pat McIntosh officiating.

A visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, at Rosser Funeral Home.

Don passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Paducah, Texas on March 30, 1937 to Mamie (Matney) and Samuel Kirby.

Don served his country in the United States Army. He married Judy Barker on June 3, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the Granbury Street Church of Christ.

Don worked his whole life until he retired at 83 as an armed security guard for DFW airport. He was an avid collector of guns and coins and loved to go to flea markets. Don loved to watch John Wayne, western movies, and you never saw him without a cigar in his mouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mamie Kirby; and brothers, Alton and Royal Kirby.

Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judy Kirby of Cleburne; daughters, Shelly Jewell and husband, Larry, of VanWert, Ohio and Debbie Hundley and husband, Chris, of Godley, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsay Stemen, Seth Jewell, Tara Auldridge, and Hannah Auldridge; great grandchildren, Gage Stemen, Alexis Stemen, Shawn Ball, and Ella Jewell; and other family members and friends.
