Rice Jackson “Jay” Spears, Jr., 75, of Cleburne, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home. A viewing and visitation will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Jay Spears was born in San Saba, Texas on November 21, 1945, the son of Elma Lee (Laird) and Rice Jackson Spears.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Spears; and sisters, Murtis Louis Spears, Jerry Lindsey, Margaret Shelton, and Jane Pierce.
Jay is survived by his sons, Doug Spears of Fort Worth, Texas and Darren Spears of Cleburne; ex-wife, Linda Spears, of Cleburne; brother, Edward Spears and sister, Nell Spears Helbing, both of Fort Worth; and grandchildren, Riley, MaKayla, Dillon, and Carley Spears.
