Obituary for Steven "Kim" Strayer

Funeral services for Steven “Kim” Strayer, 67, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Field Street Baptist Church with Dr. John Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Steven Kimberly “Kim” Strayer went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born January 14, 1955 to Marshall Strayer and Peggy Fine. He was born and raised in Cleburne, Texas and married Karen Goodman on June 18, 1976. He was an active member and Deacon of Field Street Baptist Church.

He was a Texas Peace Officer and retired as Plant Protection Officer at Bell Helicopter after 24 years of service. Kim was loved and respected by many. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and Poppie. Kim was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Strayer is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Karen Goodman Strayer of Cleburne; son and wife, Tony and Ruth Strayer of Godley; daughters and husbands, Angela and Jeremy Butler of Mimbres, New Mexico and Allison and Alex Lopez of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Abby and Ethan Strayer and Crystal Lopez; sisters and husbands, Marsha and Gerald Hawkins of Whitesboro, Tina and Steve Smith of Cleburne; brother and wife, Guy and Lori Strayer of Idaho Falls, Idaho; stepsister, Susie Parsons of Massachusetts, stepbrother, Richard Parsons of Burleson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Along with being a fisherman for sport, he never missed an opportunity to follow the great example of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be a fisher of men.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Field Street Baptist Church.
