Susan Gayle Garrett

Funeral services for Susan Gayle Garrett, 69, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kimberly Long officiating.  Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Susan passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.  She was born in Humbolt, Tennessee on January 3, 1953, the daughter of Emma Sue (Johnson) and Harry Wade.  Susan married Charles Wesley Garrett on June 16, 1972.  Together they raised three children, Courtnay, Chaz and Casey.

Susan was retired from the Johnson County Public Works Dept. Prior to that, Susan spent many years as a homemaker and volunteered in activities in which her children were involved including Cleburne ISD, Golden Pride Band, and the First United Presbyterian Church of Cleburne youth group.  She loved animals including her pup Pepper along with her grand pups. Her retirement years were spent enjoying music, coffee, and chats with many friends and family who describe her as having the most beautiful smile. She raised her children to think of others and be kind to all. This was achieved in her final act as a Life Gift Donor. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wes Garrett in 2013.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Courtnay Garrett Jones and husband, Jason, grandson, Jay “Jaybo” Jones; sons, Chaz Garrett and fiancé, Shannon, and Casey Garrett; sisters, Betsy Crumley and Harriett Lindsey Boren; nephew Chris Lindsey and wife, Becky; and great niece Brooke along with many more friends and family members.
