Funeral services for Helen LaJuan Tidwell, 85, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neale Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Estep, Jordan Cappers, Jared Cappers, Wes Burton, Brad Burton and Cameron Silveus.
LaJuan passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 in Cleburne. She was born in Grandview, Texas on July 15, 1934, the only child of Della Mae (Cain) and Clarence A. Roden.
LaJuan was a 1952 graduate of Cleburne High School. She married Marvel Tidwell on January 3, 1953 in Cleburne. Along with being a housewife and mother, LaJuan worked in the catalog department at the Cleburne Sears for 19 years before retiring.
A born again Christian at the age of 10, she has been a lifetime member of Henderson Street Baptist Church, very active in the Fellowship Sunday School Class and Women on a Mission.
LaJuan loved her family and enjoyed get togethers with her whole family which made Christmas her special holiday. She especially liked collecting antique dishes and jewelry.
LaJuan is preceded in death by her parents; and great grandchildren, Isaac and Noah Silveus.
She is survived by her husband, Marvel Tidwell of Cleburne; children, Vikki Joan Reynolds and husband, Charles, of Arlington, Texas, Gary Don Tidwell and wife, Linda, of Cleburne and Nelda Cappers and husband, Johnny, also of Cleburne; grandchildren, Misty (Cameron) Silveus , Derek (Lauren) Estep, Catherine Reynolds, Jordan Cappers, Jared (Meagan) Cappers, Wes (Melissa) Burton and Brad (Katrina) Burton; 10 great grandchildren; special cousin, Margie Carper; and many friends.
