Violet Mohr was born in Sturgeon, MO on May 26, 1948. She was the seventh child of Lester and Mary March, who preceded her in death, as well as one sister, Leona Mae Goodell, and two brothers, Harold Lavern March and Emerson Lee March, Sister-in-law Viola Barnes, and her stepson, Glen Steven Mohr.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Mohr of Cleburne, sisters, Evelyn (Michael) Collins of Mexico, MO, and Mary Lou (Haden) Plank of Clark, MO, and one brother, Graham Ellis March of Iowa, Sister-in-Law Shirley Hoehn-Flemming, two step sons , Rick (Tonia) Mohr of Grandview and Curtis (Jessica) Mohr of Godley. In addition to these, she will be fondly remembered by a seven grand children, several great grandchildren and a whole host of nieces and nephews as a very loving Aunt.

Much loved by all, she was very much a self-taught lady. Very early in life she found her way to play the piano by ear, and her home was made brighter by her love for singing.

She entered her first year of formal education in Centralia, MO. She transferred in the third grade to Sunnydale Elementary (a private church school), and five years later she graduated from the 8th grade. In time, she entered the self-supporting system of education and for many years worked in self-supporting institutions.

Her quick wit and fun loving ways helped her through many difficult times in life.

One such time was while she was working as a nurse at Wildwood Medical Missionary Institute. She heard a scuffling going on in the hall outside the room where she was working. Looking out to see what was happening she discovered a patient had the head nurse by the neck and was about to choke her. Quickly Violet took the old lady's arm and said, "Oh, let me help you get away." And just as quickly the old lady responded and went to her room with Violet.

In 1980, Violet moved to Texas and went to work for Harris Pine Mills. After two or three years there, she decided that it was time for a change and went to work for Huguley Hospital. Violet worked in outpatient surgery for a while then transferred to Pretesting where she worked until she retired after 21 years! Shortly after retiring from Huguley, she went to work for the Johnson County Tax office. Once she was eligible for retirement, she took it.

In 1991, while attending a singles mixer at the Keene SDA church, she met Gerald Mohr. They started dating and spending Sabbaths together. About a year later, Gerald asked Violet to be his wife and they were married on July 19, 1992, at the Keene Senior Citizen Center.

Violet loved to sew! She could make just about anything you wanted. She would make clothes, blankets, dolls, and pillows just to name a few. She enjoyed cooking. While Curtis was still in school and lived at home, she would make Gluten on special occasions and would always say, "Gluten will make a Glutton out of you" and according to Curtis, she was right. She especially loved music and she could play pretty much anything she tried to! Violet was also a ham radio operator. You might not hear her much on the radio, but you could always count on her to be talking to Gerald on her way home or on his way home.

On July 17, 2022, at 10:40 pm, after nearly a two-month battle trying to recover from what started as a broken leg, Violet went to sleep in Jesus. Rest In Peace, Violet, We love you and we will see you again when Jesus comes again!
