Private family services for Betty Jo Williams, 96, of Cleburne, Texas will be held in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Justin Hewlett will officiate with Mr. Sid Carruth assisting. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris George, Kery Williams, Cliff Holden II, Aaron Williams, Paul McPherson, Eric Bryant and John Muirhead. Family and friends can pay their respects from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 27, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Betty Jo Williams passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020, in Cleburne, Texas. She was born on June 23, 1923, in Soper, Oklahoma, to Luther Butler and Lucy Pullen Butler. She married Ray Williams on April 19, 1941, in Lubbock, Texas. Betty was a homemaker and an active member of Granbury Street Church of Christ, where she was committed to serving others for 62 years. In 1976, she and three other ladies from her church started visiting Cleburne Health Care (later Colonial Manor) to provide free shampooing and hairstyling for the residents there, marking the beginning of their Granbury Street Church Beauty Shop. Betty served others in this way until she was 91 years old. Not exclusive to hairdressing, Betty was also known as “The Cookie Lady” for making dozens of cookies for the TSTA Convention, Vacation Bible School, and other church functions.
Betty was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Fairy George (Joe), Beverly Holden (Cliff), and Kent Williams (Lynda); her grandchildren, DiAnne McPherson (Paul), Tanya Bryant (Eric), Chris George, Stephanie Muirhead (John), Cliff Holden II (Letitia), Kery Williams (Jamie), Aaron Williams (Christy), and Mark Elmore; as well as her 18 great-grandchildren, and her 12 great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Williams, her daughter-in-law, Jamie Williams, her parents, , and her three brothers and four sisters.

To Cindi Abbott and the staff at Santa Fe Trails Assisted Living, thank you for creating a safe environment and an atmosphere of family for Mother for the past six years. A special thanks to Monica Lopez and Micaela Martinez for their devotion and loving care of our mother.
